CHRONIC PAIN

Chronic pain is pain that lasts for more than three months, or in many cases, beyond normal healing time. Our exercise physiologist has had wide-range of experience with clients with chronic pain such as chronic lower back pain. Getting the body moving, keeping it mobile, stable and strong has been shown to have great outcomes for these clients. People who live with chronic pain and who can actively manage their pain on a daily basis do better than those who rely solely on passive therapies such as medication or surgery. Medications such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, can be effective at relieving pain, but should generally be used only for a short period (or as per your GP’s advice), and in combination with self-management techniques.

At Revitalize Exercise Physiology + Pilates we understand that living with chronic pain can be difficult especially when you have family and work commitments. Furthermore, it can stop you from doing things you enjoy. A slowly implemented suitable and personalised exercise program can help, not only improve your emotional health and well-being but can help assist in managing your pain.

Please ask our Exercise Physiologist how you can help manage your chronic pain condition.
